"The Peep Show of Hearts"
THE PAPER SCULPTURE

This is the heart of a woman made into a paper sculpture.
It's her heart offered to us, the voyeurs. The espectator is free to interpretate who this woman is only by looking at her heart. Her feelings, her memories, her lovers... her story, are told in a poetic and visual way.

This heart was made for my Masters Degree Show (Glasgow School of Art) at the McLellan Galleries, Glasgow. It was hidden in a case made of silkscreen painting and papier-maché. The texture of it was rough, like if it was made of stone. My intention was to make something abrupt and brusque, which would lead to a better appreciation of what was hidden in its interior. A woman's heart.

I`m planning to make more women's hearts. For that instance, I'll start a research into real women lives and make the interpretations of their heart depending on what these lives inspire me, Some will be dark, others will be hapy, other twisted ... as many states as a woman can hide deep in her heart.
